Privacy policy.

Trulist Private Limited is the data controller for personal information processed through Trulist. Privacy questions and requests go to team@trulist.app.

Account & profile. Name, phone number, email, profile photo, city or neighbourhood, and other details you add to your account so other users can recognise a real person behind a listing.

Identity verification. Documents or checks we ask for to confirm you are a real person (for example government ID or similar). Private ID details are used for verification and safety — buyers and other users do not see those private details on your public profile.

Listings & media. Titles, descriptions, prices, categories, location signals for the listing, and photos or videos you upload. Listing photos belong to the listing they were taken for and may be shown to other users as part of the marketplace.

Contacts & mutuals. If you choose to share contacts (or similar connection data), we use it to find friends-of-friends and mutual connections and to show discreet signals such as that you share someone in common. We do not pass your address book around to other users or sell it.

Messages & activity. In-app messages, offers, reports, blocks, and how you use listings and profiles. We may review this content to enforce rules, investigate abuse, or respond to legal requests.

Trust & safety signals. Data that feeds trust scores and badges — email and identity verification, and, when we count them, reply behaviour and completed sales. Buyer ratings are not part of the score. Mutual connections are shown separately and do not add points.

Location. Approximate or precise location you allow, so listings can surface near your neighbourhood. You can change location permissions in your device settings.

Device & usage. Device type, app version, IP address, crash logs, and similar technical data needed to run, secure, and improve Trulist. Our website and apps may use cookies or similar technologies for sessions, preferences, and analytics.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your contact book for unrelated third-party marketing.

Other users may see your public profile, listings, trust score or badge, mutual-connection hints (without receiving your full contact list), and messages you send them. They do not see private ID documents or the contents of your address book.

We share information with service providers who help us operate — for example hosting, storage, messaging delivery, analytics, customer support, and identity or fraud checks. They process data only on our instructions.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect people from harm, to investigate violations of our terms, or in connection with a reorganization of the business, with appropriate safeguards.

We keep account, listing, messaging, and trust data for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the marketplace, resolve disputes, and meet legal or safety obligations. After you delete your account, we remove or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it (for example fraud records or legal holds). Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations.

You can update profile and listing information in the app, control contact and location permissions on your device, and request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing team@trulist.app. We will respond within a reasonable time. Deleting your account removes your public profile and listings, subject to the retention rules above.

We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures appropriate to the risk to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong password and keep your login details private.

Trulist is not directed at children under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Trulist after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be notified in the app or by email.
